In 2015, both Carl Nielsen and Jean Sibelius' 150th anniversary was celebrated – both were born in 1865. Just in time for the anniversary year, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra has been involved in the recordings of all of Nielsen's six symphonies.

The first edition, with Symphonies Nos. 4 and 5, was received with open arms by the classical music world. When 2014 was summed up, this CD was among The Guardian's list of this year's 10 best classic CDs.
